The main problem with the notion that the Roswell incident was the crash of an alien spacecraft, the wreckage of which has been kept hidden since 1947, is that it needs to be a one-off event. It is at least conceivable, if very unlikely, that one crash could be kept secret, but if a number of others are said to have occurred then it is just not credible that that the truth about them could be concealed. The development and testing of military aircraft and weapons systems at Area 51 can obviously be kept secret because those in charge of it can control what happens there and the people who work there. However, if alien spacecraft survey our planet and occasionally crash, then this can obviously happen anywhere, at any time, unpredictably. To suggest that every nation where a UFO crashes would be willing or able to keep it secret is utterly absurd.

In discussing the allegedly indestructible Roswell wreckage, Carey and Schmitt make this incomprehensible statement: "Once it was realized that that the wreckage was extraterrestrial and not Russian as initially thought, the decision was made in Washington to keep this knowledge secret from not only the Russians (for obvious reasons), but also from the American people." They do not explain how this could be revealed to the American people without the Russians ever getting to hear about it. But perhaps this is an example of what the late James Moseley called "saucer logic". Also they do not explain how the wreckage of an alien spacecraft should bear such a remarkable resemblance to a Mogul balloon rig. One difference, though, is that some people belately remembered, years after the event, that the bits of wreckage were indestructible, even though they had somehow shattered when or before they hit the ground.

One of the mysteries of American ufology is the question of why any of its practicioners ever took Leonard Stringfield seriously. He was notorious for telling stories about UFO crashes, but never produced any details which would enable them to be idependently investigated. However, in this book considerable space is devoted to his nonsensical claims, and is mainly about him being given details about an alien by a doctor who allegedly conducted an autopsy on one at Wright-Patterson. The authors found similar tales about captive aliens there, mostly dead and, curiously, allegedly emitting foul odours even though they were kept with suitable preservatives in sealed containers. We are, of course, given no good reasons to believe any of this nonsense, but at least they don't mention the story of the alien who liked strawberry ice cream.

Readers will not be surprised to find the attack on the Condon Report, as it is so common in UFO books for believers. It is attacked by employing the usual illogical arguments and unsupported assertions. For example, we are told that the Committee ignored the best reports from the Blue Book files, even though they recorded a much higher proportion of unexplained cases than Blue Book. This was all part of the conspiracy, "a well-coordinated and well-conceived cover up of the true nature of UFOs". No, I don't understand what they are on about, either. I think they mean that Condon was not impressed with the unexplained ones. This is probably because they were not entirely reliable, because of such details as unreliable evidence and lack of independent witnesses.

The book follows the usual weird convention of most American UFO literature of apparently regarding UFO reports and what should be done about them as a purely American problem. No consideration is given to the possibility that if some UFOs are found to be actually or probably alien spacecraft, then this might be announced by some nation other than the USA.

we stepped out of our house (3 of us) and noticed an object overhead. it was 5/19/2013 21:05. sky was clear, we could see the moon and a couple of stars. Difficult to determine how high the object was. Object was triangular, with solid edge, orange in color. The angles of the triangle were rounded. It was nearly directly overhead and traveling from slightly east heading northwest. We watched it for 6-7 seconds. There were no flashing lights, the object was very bright, with a haze/orb around it. The haze had a spiked appearance. There was no sound at all. path was straight, not erratic. We took 2 snapshots with an iphone, and a very short video. After seeing the object, we saw an airplane coming from the west. we could clearly hear the plane and see the flashing lights. There was no sound and no flashing light on the object. We could not have been the only people in the Chicago area to see this... All 3 of us saw the same thing.

I have no idea who this guy is, but he has two new interesting photos up of what he says are Bigfoots. Does anybody know anything about him or his history? Does he have a history of hoaxing? He seems to have come onto the scene from out of nowhere. Some people think this photo is Photoshopped. I am not sure of that. But if that is a suit, it's one of the best suits I have ever seen.

Here is what he wrote about it:

I returned to the area where I saw that mysterious animal and started to explore the area. After a few hours of wandering the area, I came to a brush covered hillside and saw this thing observing me. It was a much lighter color than the last animal I spotted with my son. It looked ape like, and I zoomed in and took a photo.

When it heard my camera sound, it backed into the brush, and I heard it crashing through the trees as it moved off. I think someone needs to get out here - at Adirondack state park.

I've contacted the BFRO about this but have received no response. In February of this year, I was hiking with my son in Adirondack State Park. We were walking through quite thick brush when we came into a clearing. It was then that we noticed a dark shape crouched down near the tree line. At first we thought it was a bear, but as it started walking on all fours, I realized it was no bear and got a little spooked.

This thing was hairy, and I could see the muscle structure under the hair. My son was scared and urged us to leave. I quickly took out my cellphone and snapped a photo. It was then that this creature stood up on two legs and started to run the treeline bipedally. My son began to scream and panic, and so we hightailed it out of there.

I had no time to get any more photographs of the creature. We were truly terrified. I've never seen an animal run like this did on two legs. It could not have been a bear, as they cannot run like that. This thing walked on its knuckles when on all fours, like a gorilla. It then stood up like a man and ran, all hunched over.

One detail I noticed during the sighting was that it had something on its back, something hairy and grey. I got the impression that it was an infant. I have of course heard of Bigfoot, but I never believed such things, yet now I am sure that it must be this creature that we saw. I'm scared for people who go hiking up in that wilderness in case this creature is dangerous.

I feel sometimes people will think I am delusional. My wife thinks I am crazy in some way and will not believe that I photographed anything other than a bear. But I know what bears look like. This was no bear. I have attached the first photograph for your consideration.

I see that Robert Lindsay has said that this photo (these photos) look nothing like an orangutan to him. But they do look like an orangutan to me. And what is more the face in the main photo looks very similar to the Myakka Skunk Ape, which has been previously noted to look very much likec an orangutan(these Skunk Ape Pictures come from Facebook):

Institutions Fight Over Jewels Of Space Travel

WASHINGTON They've racked up a lot of mileage and their 28.8 million price - sans engines - should be enough to cause sticker shock. But that isn't stopping institutions from Chicago to Los Angeles from engaging in a new space race to land one of the soon-to-be-retired space shuttles. Twenty-one institutions are in fierce competition for what one museum director called the rarest of space artifacts. They've enlisted former astronauts and high-flying officials to back their bids for one of three orbiters.

Lawmakers have even tried to use congressional legislation to give their states a leg up. "Like anything rare, the orbiters will be hugely popular attractions," said Valerie Neal, space history curator at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. They are the most significant space artifacts to become available since the Apollo and Skylab command modules in the 1970s, Neal said.

Florida, where the shuttle is launched, and Texas, home to mission control, say they deserve one. Ohio says it should get one because it was the home of the Wright brothers. New York City says it should get one because it can draw the biggest crowds. At least three museums in Southern California, with its aerospace heritage, say they should get one.

Chicago's Adler Planetarium is competing, as are institutions in Seattle, Tulsa, Huntsville, Ala., and McMinnville, Ore., home of another big flying machine: the Spruce Goose. NASA Administrator Charles Bolden has final say over who will receive one of the shuttles, which one bidder called "the modern-day equivalent of housing Columbus' famed ships - the Nina, the Pinta or the Santa Maria."

No date has been set for a decision, but the shuttle, workhorse of the space program for three decades, is scheduled to make its final space flight next year. NASA wants to retire the shuttle fleet so it can use more of its 19 billion budget to develop a new line of spacecraft that one day could visit Mars. Earlier this year, Obama challenged NASA to put astronauts on a nearby asteroid by 2025.

The space agency plans to send Discovery to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, leaving Atlantis and Endeavour up for grabs. Enterprise, the test orbiter displayed at the Smithsonian, is expected to be made available to another institution.

Winning bidders each must come up with 28.8 million to cover preparation and delivery costs. But bidders see a potential economic boon to their communities from landing a shuttle, not to mention a big payload of prestige. NASA has asked bidders to describe the "benefit to the nation" from their receiving a shuttle, including how they would use an orbiter to "inspire the American public and students." Bidders must convince NASA they can get a shuttle with a wing span of 78 feet to their facility, seemingly no easy task for a facility like the California Science Center in the middle of a metropolitan area.

I am on vacation in Destin Florida this week and I witnessed multiple UFOs tonight that I would like to share while it is fresh in my mind. I was sitting on an open balcony of the condo I am staying in a little before 8PM CST. I was watching the sky above the beach because the stars were just starting to show up. There is a good bit of light pollution from the adjacent condo buildings and also the tennis courts that are right between me and the ocean. But, as I sat there enjoying the view I saw 2 lights that burned bright just above the horizon that were totally out of place. The two lights were brighter than any star in the sky at the time. They appeared to be totally stationary and suspended in the sky for a few seconds. Long enough for me to get a good look, but yet after a few seconds they were gone. When they appears there didn't seem to actually move. Meaning, they just sort of appeared and then they disappeared.This happened 3 more times for a total of 4 sightings that were very similar. 2 lights would appear for a number of seconds then just sort of extinguish. Of the 4 times that the 2 lights appears, the location was different. It was 2 lights but in different places in the horizon.

In 1975, Robert K. G. Temple authored the first authoritative manuscript on what has become known, sharing the title of his book, as "The Sirius Mystery," in reference to the unexplained methodology Africa's ancient Dogon tribe had employed to solve an interstellar mystery.

The story goes that the Dogon had somehow possessed knowledge of Sirius B, a white dwarf companion to the star known as Sirius A, long before modern astronomers had confirmed the existence of a smaller star which is, curiously, invisible without the aid of telescopes.

However, more recently the term "Sirius" in relation to ancient astronaut and UFO mysteries has been a hot word in relation to an upcoming documentary produced by Dr. Stephen Greer of the Disclosure Project. According to Greer, the film will not only deal with the important global economic issues of today as they relate to the UFO enigma (and of course, from an exopolitical standpoint), but the film is also alleged to reveal new information about a small, mummified humanoid which Greer says, rather hopefully, may indeed prove the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Late last year, Greer noted publicly that he and his colleagues "traveled to the country that is now home to this small possible ET body and were able to successfully obtain extensive X-Ray and CT Scans of the entire body. We were also able to obtain DNA samples under sterile, surgical conditions. These DNA samples are now being studied by one of the world's top geneticists." He mostly gets messages at night, when he is at home.

Usually he gets up and goes to a room, or the small yard, to receive the messages. He speaks with a different voice tone and has a different look in the eyes while getting the messages. Many times he almost falls back to the floor when the messages end. The ETs punish him if he doesn't follow their requests. He has already fallen back to the floor, or stayed without voice for some time, as a punishment. But they really do not cause him any physical harm.

His mother and one of his sisters are afraid of the ETs. His father understands and accepts the case a little bit more than the others in his family. His parents are worried and want all this to end but it doesn't.

His father sent him to spiritualistic sessions, but nothing connected to it was detected. They have even taken him to doctors who gave him some medicines for him to get stronger. He is a thin boy.
