John Keel

John Keel (1930-2009) wrote several classics of Fortean literature* dealing with UFOs, cryptozoology, poltergeists and various other anomalous data. It was passing to the south of my house, in a very large arc from the west to the southeast, so as I continued watching from the backyard. I could see it from the side."

The witness moved to the front yard as the object moved away.

"It got about where I would estimate it was over the ocean, but to the south of me, continuing in that same 'deliberate' way, and still following that big arc to the southeast. So now I was seeing the back end of it, but it was getting farther away, and the leftover daylight in the sky was pretty much gone. Then all the lights except maybe one went out, and within maybe two or three seconds, the whole thing either disappeared, or the last light went out. I didn't see it anymore."

The Chang'e 3 lander has officially moved from the design to the launch stage, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense said in a statement.

The Chang'e 3 and another lander will remain on the moon's surface, although China plans to follow those with landers that will return to Earth with samples.

A crewed lunar mission could also be launched if officials decide to combine the human spaceflight and lunar exploration programs.

China has recently focused on its manned flight program, sending two missions to temporarily crew the Tiangong 1 experimental space station. Launched in 2011, the station is due to be replaced by a three-module permanent station, Tiangong 2, in seven years.

China sent its first astronaut into space in 2003, becoming the third nation after Russia and the United States to achieve manned space travel independently.
