As we near the 12 anniversary of what is commonly and erroneously labeled the Phoenix Lights, in retrospect it's difficult to believe so much time has passed; it seems as if it were only a couple of years ago that my wife and I witnessed the "Massive V-Shaped Craft" from our then home in Chandler Arizona; for almost 4400 days that image has been seared into my mind's eye. I still vividly remember the entire sighting, which occurred at 8:30 pm MST. I've been told on many occasions that over time, thoughts and memories fade and total recall starts to diminish. Well, not this one!
I still give thanks almost daily for being allowed the opportunity to view with my own eyes one of the greatest UFO sightings in history. We (my wife and I) were at the perfect angle at the right time and place to have the opportunity of a lifetime. Being able to witness a mile-long "alien craft," from which I believe comes from another dimension, has been by far the greatest visual experience of my 55 years of life on earth.
I'm not writing this to sway public opinion or change anyone's mind. I am writing this to express gratitude for what I was a part of and to publicly say, "Thank you Lord" for allowing me to see this for myself; something that we have been told all of our lives "does not exist!"
I first came forward on Saturday morning March 15, 1997, in a phone call to Mr. Walter Andress of MUFON in Sequin, Texas; from that point on I haven't stopped talking about this life-changing experience. I have met and shared our encounter with hundreds of other "eight o'clock witnesses" and the database is overwhelming as to the scope and magnitude of the event throughout the great state of Arizona. What was once thought of as a mere set of lights beginning near Kingman, is now known to be much larger in scale with multiple mile long V shaped objects, a massive 2 mile-wide triangle and a mile wide disc (and that's not all).
Not just one set of lights by a long shot!
It's a fact that the listening and viewing public have been lied to from the very beginning! Without a doubt the real story has never been told. This is what motivated me to write, The Non-Investigation of the Phoenix Lights. I have known from my very first interviews that the media (producers) do not care if the truth is ever told. They wish to sanitize the story so it is more believable (accepted) by the public. In other words; they change or don't report all the facts; thus, they lie to you. Because they feel that sometimes the truth is much too strong for the sheeple and the truth needs to be altered so we can sleep tonight without worrying about something we have no control of. Sickening, isn't it?
Concerning the Phoenix Lights case: "they" changed the facts and continually show the 10 PM flare videos (there are 6 of them) while interviewing the eight o'clock witnesses. This deception is a huge slap in the face to the witnesses of the "actual craft," and a total lie to any who read or watched the events and testimonies of The Massive UFO Flyover of Arizona, March 13, 1997. All one has to do is ask a non-witness about the Phoenix Lights sightings on March 13, 1997, and most will say, "Oh, yeah they were flares!" The eight o'clock witnesses just shake their heads left to right in frustration. The diversion has succeeded and the truth will probably never be told as minds have already been made up.
So, I ask myself, "What can I do?" Does anyone other than the witnesses really care? Does anyone know about or care about the MSTI-3 satellite that was disabled early on March 13th 1997? Does anyone care about the witnesses who watched in awe at 5:30 pm near Crown King, AZ., as 3 massive V shaped craft in daylight pancaked on top of each other"; then turned into a white ball of light and vanished as 2 fighter jets approached from the south? Does anyone care that the 8:16 pm MST witnesses in Paulden, AZ., included retired US Army Major named Lyle Vann, not a retired police officer as was written in summaries and books? Does anyone care about being "historically correct" as much as we possibly can? I do!
Does anyone care that drivers on I-17, I-10, US60 and many other highways and roads throughout the state pulled over and got out of their vehicles to watch in disbelief what was passing in their field of vision? Does anyone care if a little league game came to a halt as a massive craft silently passed overhead? And does anyone care if a police search and rescue team practicing in the north valley witnessed the same thing and the helicopter pilot absolutely refused to go up and check it out? What about the airborne flight instructor from Embry-Riddle? As he looked down he assumed there was a power outage, only to become aware of the massive V shaped craft passing under him; in his own words he stated, "I thought he was going to die!" Does anyone care? Does anyone care about the retired airline captain who claimed he could land his 737 on the wing of the massive V shaped craft? Again, does anyone really care?
I mean, after all it was just flares, right?
Throughout the past twelve years, I've looked back and realized just how lucky I've been. I mean I've done 2 episodes of Strange Universe, 2 documentaries for stations in Tokyo, Japan; I've also been privileged to do dozens of television interviews and at least 60 radio interviews. I was invited to do the Leeza Gibbons show, as well. How often does one get to fly to Los Angeles, get a limo ride to Paramount Studios, have your name on your door, a catered private lunch and get to meet Leeza! Wow! Well, I did. It was very cool indeed and one of the best times I've had.
I have for the most part always been open to share my experience-again without requiring compensation. There have been a few witnesses and or investigators who've penned books and or produced DVDs etc; however, making a buck hasn't been a precedence for me.
I did an interview with Dr Lynne Kitei for her book and DVD. Actually, I'm a large part of the video she sells and my 8:30 sighting is told in great detail. I do appreciate her for allowing me to do that. She asked me dozens of questions and allowed my views of March 13, 1997 to be told in my own words. I do not agree with her on her 10 PM video as UFO; rather I pretty much agree that those 10 pm videos are more than likely flares, intentionally ignited at high altitude (17,000') to create a diversion to take away attention from the earlier events of the massive crafts.
The strangest part of my association with Dr Lynne took place at a MUFON meeting in Mesa, AZ a couple months ago; she approached me and said, "I'm also an eight o'clock witness to the massive V shaped craft! I just never came forward because I didn't take any pictures!" What? So, for the last 11.5 years why have you been focused on the 10 pm video you shot, trying to divorce it from the other flare footage and claming it was of an authentic UFO? Most agree that the 10 pm videos are in fact flares, so now you claim to be an eight o'clock witness as well? Are you kidding me? And for the past 11.5 years with all your interviews, television and radio shows-you never made this claim! Now you are a witness to the large craft?
Does anyone else find this peculiar? Very early on, the majority of eight o'clock hour witnesses became cognizant of the disparity between the "large craft" cruising "low and slow," opposed to the distant lights up and beyond the Estrellas; to say that people were adamant about their "craft sighting," in contrast to flares would be an understatement! Dr. Lynne has fought tooth and nail for her "10:00 video" to be disassociated with flares-never during this time has she given any inkling that she observed the "craft" in the eight o'clock hour! I find this new revelation very curious to be polite.
One part of the March 13th massive statewide sightings that never really gets examined is the official statements made by the USAF and government pertaining to the events; they did not claim that the dropping of flares were responsible for the "earlier events" (eight o'clock hour). Instead what was said was this, "at no point in time was there a threat to the security of the United States". Thus, my interpretation would be that since there was no threat, then it (the UFOs) would be considered a friendly. The FOIA from Luke AFB did not call the earlier events as planes, flares, blimps, balloons, or any other man made objects. Instead the FOIA reports the USAF as calling the "objects" as unusual aerial sightings. They also report that no Luke AFB craft were involved in the "phenomena" reported on the night of 13 Mar 97.
Since our sighting nearly twelve years ago, my wife and I have become very good sky watchers. We have spent many hundreds of hours watching the skies for a return visit, hoping this time to get "it" (or them) on film. I really feel that what we got to see that night might be considered a "once in a lifetime" sighting and we have accepted that as a possibility. However, whenever outside no matter what the length of time might be, I am always aware of my surroundings and I still take a moment to scan the skies.
So, in closing I wish to say something from my heart, "I do not believe in UFOs or aliens-I know "they exist!"

MARCH 21, 2013 - UNITED STATES - The Milky Way galaxy is so big, that there's no doubt, statistically speaking, that ETs exist.
That's what several prominent scientists say on the month-long series "Are We Alone?," airing on the Science Channel.
But what do these otherworldly denizens look like? Are they smart or dumb? Will we ever come face to face with them?
On the first installment of "Aliens: The Definitive Guide," premiering tonight, famed theoretical physicist Michio Kaku is among those who take a strong stand on the biggest questions about the search for intelligent life in the universe.
"Some scientists say that perhaps we are the only life forms in the universe. Give me a break! I mean, how many stars are there out there in the universe, anyway? The Hubble Space Telescope can see about a hundred billion galaxies -- that's the visible universe," Kaku says on the alien TV special.
"Each galaxy consists of a hundred billion stars. Do the math. A hundred billion times a hundred billion is 10 sextillion. That's one with 22 zeros after it. There definitely are aliens in outer space -- they're out there!"
Recent planetary discoveries by NASA's Kepler Space Telescope confirm the existence of huge numbers of planets in our nearby galactic neighborhood, and the number of Earth-like worlds is on the increase, raising expectations that life has evolved on many of them.
"There's an exotic zoo of planets out there. Many of them aren't anything like the kind of planets we find in our own solar system," according to astrobiologist Lewis Dartnell. "One kind of planet common in the galaxy is a water world -- a planet with a very deep ocean, perhaps hundreds of kilometers deep. The life in these water worlds might look pretty recognizable."
But while scientists still don't know exactly what life may look like on worlds hundreds of trillions of miles away (see illustration above), Dartnell theorizes about possible similarities found between Earth and conditions that may have developed on another planet.
"The propulsion mechanisms that are adapted and evolved by alien fish would be pretty similar to the propulsion mechanisms that you find on Earth simply because they're solving the same survival situation with the means available to them."
Because of the advances in our ability to locate other planets in the Milky Way galaxy, scientists now estimate there could be hundreds of billions of planets that may harbor life. But how intelligent might that life be?
"There are three basic ingredients to become an advanced civilization," says Kaku, one of the leading physicists in the world.
"First, you have to have stereo eyes -- eyes of a hunter -- because predators are smarter than prey. That's why we say 'sly fox' and 'dumb as a bunny.' If you are a predator, that means you have to have camouflage and stealth. You have to be able to outsmart the prey.
"Second, you have to have an opposable thumb, a hand, a claw, a tentacle -- something by which you can manipulate the environment to create machines and, eventually, starships.
"And third, language. You have to be able to accumulate knowledge between generations. The knowledge you get from this generation has to be handed down in order to create vast civilizations capable of taking you to the stars."

Sharon Lee, from Bigfoot Field Reporter, brings us a thoughtful and odd item: The Ghost and Mr. Mike. This story isn't over yet. Mr. Mike (not to be confused with the "Mike" in Autumn Wililams book Enoch) seems sane, rational. As some of us have commented earlier, if he is senile, or has dementia, how is it he's taking care of an invalid ninety year old sibling? Yes, it's very odd several Bigfoot would be hanging around someone's backyard, near a freeway, and yet, as Sharon writes:
"A couple of weeks ago, a story was reported that a man was seeing bigfoots in his back yard. Next to the freeway. In the middle of town. Well, it wouldn't be the first story about a bigfoot in someone's backyard. Or by the freeway. Or running through town. " In some ways, Mr. Mike's story reminds me a little of Stan Johnson's (who is deceased) experiences. Stan lived near I-5 in Sutherlin, Oregon, and he met a family of Bigfoot on his property. Johnson wrote about his experiences with this family of Sasquatch in a couple of self-published books.
Mr. Mike's story does seem very strange, and yet, Sharon reports:

The Royals are living in a world which is so beyond our understanding?
Let's start with the (coronation) ceremony in 1953, the Queen sat on the Coronation Chair and under her bum was the Stone of Destiny which Edward I had stolen from Scone (pronounced 'scoon') Abby in 1246.

Instead of saying that they are lizards (probably to protect herself) actress Helen Mirren has described the Royal Family as "aliens" which she intends to say, according to TheIndependent, that the Royal Family are the same flawed, insecure, vulnerable, complicated human beings as we are, but living in a world which is so beyond our understanding.
There are not many people who dare to say that the Royal Family are connected to the Illuminati, probably involved in Satanic rituals and is part of NWO's master plan to enslave us.
It is clear that the inner circle around Diana knew about her knowledge on the true nature of the Royal Family's genetic history and the reptilian control. Today 09.12.13, I saw a hovering object over West Krugersdorp, in Gauteng, South Africa, I saw it at 20:05 to 2:40, unfortunately I was a passenger with a nonbeliever of extraordinary things so he refused to stop. What I saw was hovering object with red green and white lights not moving and lights on it was not high in the sky about just below the clouds, and it was raining lightly.
The thing is I saw the same thing around 30 years ago. I was about 7-8 years when I saw an object like that in the same area. I saw little green/gray people with big eyes at that time. I have tried to share my story with people around me but I sound like I am crazy.
When I saw the Roswell picture many years after my experience, it was what I saw. I knew they existed, but could never meet anyone who saw the same thing. This year I had an experience that it came into my room while I was sleeping, but this time is was taller. I felt it touching my hip assuring me it's not hurting me but examining me. It appeared with a bright light and when it left there was a whooping sound and the light went off. The thing is I was paralysed with fear though my husband was asleep next to me. My story is a short one with detail:
From the age of 6 I can remember sleeping in a room and having the feeling of something in the room with me.

At age 17 I saw it floating in the woods just outside town,we were 3 kids playing in the woods and one of the guys said "omg man look up at the sun."

Anyway at age 23 it came back but this time setting its eyes on my girlfriend now wife.
What happened next was the start of something weird and out of this world.
Last night:
It came back this time hovering outside the bedroom on the 1st floor.
It had a strong glow that lit up the room.
By this time I woke up and spoted a devise that looked like a hand on the wall just above the bed, I tryed to wake up my wife but she was fast a sleep.
After 15 sec the hand just vanished and I was thinking im dreaming but then my wife opend her eyes and her eyes was as black as the night.
I was shaking her to wake up but with no luck.
Then I heard a soft whisper from the foot of the bed, I looked up and saw a short blue alien I knew it was one the moment I saw it,and at that point I knew what was happening. My wife woke up and looked at it aswell,we where just staring at it for 30 TO 40 seconds.
Then we both passed out and had the same dream of handing each other red glowing orbs.
At 3am we woke up again with a headache and neck pain.
We went up stairs and just sat at the kitchen table for 2 hours before geting a word out on what had happend.

OK, in the paranormal thread I alluded to a UFO encounter but didn't elaborate on it in that thread.
So I will do so here.
If YOU have had any sort of UFO encounter, please feel free to relate it here as well.
This encounter happened more then 30 years ago. There were about 8 people who saw this craft. It was evening in Jacksonville, NC. The band I was in was playing an enlisted club at Camp Lejeune and had come to the first break. We stepped outside the clubs back door.
From that position, we had a clear view of the sky towards the New River and down past the barracks. It was a warm clear night on the base. The band (3 members) and a few of the road crew as well as a number of Marines who were in the club that evening were all outside. We tended not to get intoxicated on anything while on the base. Doing so was not a very good idea so we were all sober. I think the patrons were trying to get blasted but it was still very early in the evening and they had not reached the point of intoxication on the 3.1 beer they sold in the club.
One of the Marines said, "Hey! What the hell is that?" Pointing in the direction of the barracks and the river. I looked up to see some sort of craft moving fast and silently toward us.....with no lights on it whatsoever. It passed directly over head, maybe several hundred feet above us. Again, when it was directly overhead, it made no sound, and had no lights. We could see it clearly in the sky as it reflected the lights from the ground. It was round in shape (viewed from below) and appeared to be about 60 feet or so across, and appeared to be shiny non-painted metal from what we could see and how it reflected the light. It was moving about 50mph when it passed over us.
The bass player in the band was a combat veteran (Vietnam) and commented after that in all his years in the service, he had seen a number of strange things but nothing like what we saw that night.
The nightclub was called the 5th area e-club, and was located very close to the main part of the base. The field house and parade fields as well as the Commanding General's office was located nearby. It was common for military aircraft, especially helicopters to be operating there day and night. They, however, make one heck of a racket and ALL aircraft over a military base have lights on them.
No one who was there that saw it had any idea what it was. All we know is that we saw something that we had never seen before in all our experience.
If it was a secret military craft or of alien design and command, well....we'll never know.
I just know what I saw that night and it wasn't a chopper or a Harrier.

Like you I've been in quite a few situations where I have felt pretty creeped out.
I was once in a valley deep in the West African Savanna where the locals sacrificed animals to a fertility god that lived in a tiny lake. The place was almost entirely covered in blood and you could hear the pitiful wailing of the animals as they cut their throats with crude knives made out of scrap metal. That was very surreal and definitely creepy.
Then there was the time when I was in college and my best friend who was the security chief took me on a tour of the secret rooms of our campus library. You see it was a converted mansion that was used by the leader of a quasi Hindu cult in the 1920's and 30's. There were all kinds of secret passages, rooms filled with cult fetishes that missionaries had brought back from all over the world and a strange little room with a hidden window through which the cult leader would watch his guest as they slept without the slightest inclination on their part. It was long rumored to be haunted and we experienced our share of odd noises, fetishes flying off shelves without any cause and lights turning on and off for no reason. It was very creepy indeed.
In the early 90s I went to a large Star Trek Convention in New York City. Now I've been a fan of Trek since the program first aired in the 60's, but man there were times at this convention when it was just as creepy as being in a room you were sure was filled with specters that wished you ill will. It wasn't the costumes or the rabid geekdom that effervesced throughout the gallery that was creepy. Most of those attending were great people even though some might deem them a tad eccentric. No, it was the small percentage of fans there who you could tell were absolute nuts. You could just see it in their eyes, an aloofness that showed they were...elsewhere. Strangely it seemed a lot of them were seated at vendor's booths.
But of all the things that gives me the creeps the feeling that something unseen is stalking you is to me the most disturbing. It's the feeling I had as a child while swimming in the Ocean after having just seen Jaws. I had the same feeling a few years later walking through the Allegheny woods late at night after seeing The Legend of Boggy Creek, I was sure Bigfoot was hunting me through the dark woods. And while in Africa I guarded our Land Rover from thieves during the night while we traveled to a remote village. As I lay on the roof of the Rover with a short bush sword as my only defense, something walked the dark streets of the village. There was no electricity for hundreds of miles and it was a new moon. But I could hear the breathing of the creature and could make out the dark shape that moved up and down the dirt road that passed for the main street of the village. At one point it came very close to our vehicle and I could no longer see where it was. The fright that overcame me at that moment was almost overwhelming, I wanted to jump up and run for the door of the nearby hut where my companions lay sleeping but the only movement I made was to sturdy my grip on the blade in my hand. And then the creature just...disappeared. I never saw it again even though the frightful encounter guaranteed that I would not catch a wink of shut eye for the entire night. I made mention of this mysterious creature to my fellow Missionaries who had spent decades in the field and had traveled to this remote village often. They had no clue as to what it was. I thought it had the vague shape of a lion, but my friends assured me that there had been no lions in the area for almost a century. What was it? I have no idea but I'll never forget the feeling I had that night. The feeling of being stalked by something large and unknown was an all consuming ominously creepy feeling.
It is this fear of an unseen "THING" that could jump out at you from seemingly nowhere that really freaks me out. And a few years ago I came across an old story on the Web that gave me the creeps in this very way. It can be found on many sites on the Internet, here is a version from The National UFO Database:
"PENNSYLVANIA, DIXONVILLE - Mine inspector Glenn E. Berger reported in 1944 to his superiors that the Dixonville mine disaster which "killed" 15 men was not the result of a cave-in, but rather an attack by underground creatures capable of manipulating the earth [partial cave-ins], whose domain the miners had apparently penetrated. Most of the dead miners were not injured by falling rocks but showed signs of large claw marks, others were missing, and one survivor spoke of seeing a vicious humanoid creature that was 'not of this world' within an ancient passage that the miners had broke into. The creature somehow created a "cave-in", blocking himself and another inspector [who closed his eyes when he felt the creatures 'hot breath' on his neck] from the main passage until another rescue party began to dig through the collapse, scaring the "creature" away. source: Article by Stoney Brakefield in NEWS EXTRA, "July 14, 1974"
Imagine the sheer terror if this story were true. There are Humanoid like things under the Mountains of Western Pennsylvania that are both intelligent and malevolent. I have been an avid reader of all things unexplained all my life and I had never heard this tale before. It seemed to be authentic since it sites Newspaper, author and date of publication. I followed up on every site that hit on my Google search and the basics of the story remained the same, along with the sited source. But in searching nearby newspaper archives online I couldn't find a thing about it. Not only was there not any real newspaper article that mentioned the amazing claims made by Inspector Berger after the horrible death of his coworkers, there was no evidence of the disaster itself even before the amazing revelation of it's actual cause. Within all the Googled internet articles the mine itself was not named but it was supposedly located in the town of Dixonville which is in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Upon further research I found that the only documented mine in Dixonville was the Randolph Mine #2 which was situated off the Pennsylvania Railroad very close to the town. It had started operation in 1913 and was active at the time of this supposed disaster. Perhaps this was where the incident occurred?
Having found no really good leads on this story from the Web, I resorted to good old fashioned leg work. As we all know mining disasters devastate the local community and it is very uncommon for the accident to be forgotten. If this incident really happened, then surely there must be some tangible record of the event. Since Dixonville is a very small town and has neither newspaper nor library I started out my investigation at the nearest major town which is Indiana, Pa. I called the Indiana County Library and inquired if anyone there had ever heard of the incident and was transferred to the reference librarian. The young lady that took the question was very puzzled, she personally had never heard of the Dixonville mine disaster of 1944. But she "had" heard of the Sample Run Mine disaster that occurred nearby in August of 1926. There had been an explosion deep in the mine at Sample Run and four of the miners had been brought to the Dixonville hospital. There had been 57 men in the mine the day of the accident and 44 of them had perished. But since she had never heard of any accident occurring at Dixonville itself she decided to do some investigating on her own and told me she would call me back later in the afternoon.
In the meantime I also contacted the local Indiana newspaper the "Indiana Gazette". I talked to Mr. Daley the newspaper's editor. At first I just inquired about the disaster in general, afraid that informing him about the bizarre elements of the case might end our conversation abruptly. But as we talked I gradually let the fantastic story out little by little. It peaked his interest but there was a major problem, he had never heard of any paper in the area called the News Extra. Just to be sure he checked with some of the older employees of the newsroom and they too had never heard of neither the paper nor the accident. In fact the name Stoney Brakefield didn't ring any bells with anyone in the office either. But the editor was intrigued with the story and promised to explore all avenues available to him to see if any of the tale could be validated.
Within a few hours I received calls from both the Research Librarian and Mr. Daley from the "Indiana Gazette". Neither of them could find any evidence whatsoever to corroborate the validity of any aspect of the story. There was no documentation to be found from any of the local papers or news reports of an accident in a mine at Dixonville or any other local mine in 1944. No local or regional papers of the area ever went by the name News Extra. And as for the name of the reporter who broke this fantastic story Stoney Brakefield? The only record of him appears to be in the various Internet articles connected to this story.
I call shenanigans.
It's a total fabrication. It seems to have begun surfacing paranormal and UFO web sites around 1998, and like so many unverified stories it made the rounds from site to site until it was taken as a reputable story by some. It probably seemed to have a hint of authenticity because of the inclusion of the names of what appeared to be a real newspaper and reporter. Just like so many of the fantastic stories from the more tabloid 19th century newspapers, there is no verifiable facts to back up the amazing story of the C.H.U.D. that attacked the miners at Dixonville in 1944.
Too bad. It's a great story, even if it is a tad campy. It would be phenomenal if there were actually Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers within the coal rich mountains of Western Pennsylvania. Of course I myself would never go spelunking again.

I couldn't believe it when I read the submission from Rhonda about the phantom dog (or being) that she saw crossing the street.
We have had 2 encounters with this in the last 2 months.
In the first encounter, my husband and I were driving about 35mph at the edge of Sparta in Southern Illinois. It was early January around 7PM and already dark out.
We were in a semi-residential area with some houses and a few businesses. My husband was driving and telling me a story when I saw a black streak run across the street (from left to right) in front of us. My impression was that it was a canine of some sort, but this was taller than any dog. It also didn't have a definite shape, just a black streak. The best way to describe it would be how cartoon characters are drawn when they are running really fast. A shape with a streak behind it. Except this was completely black. It also didn't have a lope or gait to it- it's movement was very smooth. It was very fast and this all happened in less than 2 seconds.
My husband didn't see anything because he had glanced at me to finish his story right then. We drove around looking for anything that would fit the description but didn't see any such animal.
The second sighting happened in mid February while we were at home. We have big bay windows and when you're sitting in the living room you can see out into the yard and a good portion of the road that runs in front of our house.
My husband, our 25 yr old daughter, and I were sitting there talking about the days events. It was supposed to start snowing and we all glanced outside to see if it had started yet. At that exact time we all saw a black streak zoom up the road (going North). It was going very fast. The speed limit in front of our house is 25 mph and if I had to guess I would say this was going 50 to 60 mph. We hurried out front to look some more but there was no sign of anything. What I saw that day was exactly what I had seen that other evening. My daughter and my husband individually recounted exactly what they had seen and we realized we had all seen the exact same thing. Both my daughter and husband said it seemed to be a canine form in a black streak. None of us has any explanation for what we saw.
We are about 30 minutes from Missouri and I find it interesting that Rhonda's sighting was in Missouri - right across the Mississippi River.
I wonder if others are experiencing this too? Rhonda's is the first story I've read that describes what we saw.

Yet on Sunday evening before a crowd of strangers and old friends, the two longtime buddies will recount in stunning detail their recollection of the night, nearly 40 years ago, when they say they and two others were plucked from a canoe on Eagle Lake in the Allagash Wilderness Waterway and taken aboard an alien spacecraft.
"Number one, we have nothing to gain by this except public ridicule," said Foltz, 63. "Our goal would be to enlighten, inform and put some type of positive direction on this."

"The goal is to help experiencers come to terms with what's happening to them, and get over their fears and get on with their lives," said Audrey Hewins of Oxford, the organizer of the conference and whose regional group, Starborn Support, hosts monthly meetings for a few dozen people to help them cope with their abduction or close-encounter experience.In the world of ufology -- the oft-marginalized study of unidentified flying objects and the accompanying foreign beings that purportedly interact with people on Earth -- the "Allagash incident" ranks among the most substantiated in the United States.The case was the subject of a 1993 book, "The Allagash Abductions," by longtime UFO investigator Raymond E. Fowler, which bills itself as "undeniable evidence of alien intervention" into human life. The tome is a relatively straightforward account of how Fowler encountered the four men, interviewed them and had them undergo regression hypnosis -- a form of guided relaxation that purports to allow people to retrieve lost or repressed memories.Through independent sessions of hypnosis performed years after the 1976 encounter, Weiner, Foltz, Weiner's twin brother, Jack, and a fourth companion, Charles Rak, each recounted slightly different versions of the same, horrifying story of being used as human test subjects by an advanced, celestial race of humanoid figures who took them aboard their craft that night.When they were asked about the experience during an interview Friday, the voices of Jim Weiner and Foltz did not not waver. Their gaze maintained a steady intensity as they recalled the brilliant orb of light that first hovered over the trees. They described a beam of light emanating from the orb and surrounding them, before they were whisked to parts unknown.The experience aboard the craft, where they were probed and tested by four-fingered beings with almond-shaped eyes and languid limbs, appeared to have taken about two hours, according to their accounts.But when the experience occurred, the group of four felt no gap in time. Only later, when a large campfire built to burn for hours had seemingly died down in a matter of minutes, did they realize they had "lost time," a blind spot in their recollections that was only filled in later under deep hypnosis.The steadfastness of their story has not deterred a legion of doubters, debunkers and verbal assailants, though. They've been called crazy more times than they care to remember.Jack Weiner, 61, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and cannot easily travel from his Vermont home, said in a telephone interview Friday that his experience in Allagash refocused his career away from the arts and toward hard science and mathematics. He doesn't care whether people believe his story, he said, and dismisses debunkers as close-minded and sometimes ignorant of the breadth of scientific knowledge."They weren't there," Jack Weiner said. "I didn't see them there. If they want to stay ignorant, there's nothing I can do to change them. I know differently from my own experience."Rak, the fourth member of the canoe party, has been out of contact with the group for more than two decades and could not be located for an interview.But that does not deter Jim Weiner and Foltz, who are both from the Boston area, from pursuing further study and inquiry into what they believe is a global effort by world governments to systematically conceal from the public the truth about the existence of alien life.The nay-saying crowd, Weiner said, is a product of some restrictive worldview that cannot possibly fathom that aliens exist."What we describe threatens them in some way," said Weiner, who works in information technology at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. Be it social, religious or scientific beliefs, he said, "the only way they can maintain a sense of self is by denial or accusation. It's much easier to say, 'Oh, you're making it up,' or, 'Oh, you're crazy,' or, 'You're a fraud.'"Joe Cambria, who operates the New England UFO Research Organization and a companion hotline for witnesses to report sightings, said he receives a steady stream of calls, the vast majority -- as high as 90 percent -- from hoaxsters and phonies."Then that final 10 percent is what's interesting," he said.Skepticism is a requirement for any serious UFO inquiry, said Cambria, of Wakefield, Mass. He is even skeptical of the use of the word "abduction."People are having (internal) experiences," said Cambria, his voice rising."But kidnappings? Something's been going on out there, and it's been going on out there since recorded time.
